Cancelling a flight is rarely a simple process. The outcome — whether a full refund, a travel credit, a partial refund after penalties, or no recovery at all — depends entirely on the fare type you purchased, the airline's specific cancellation policy, and how far in advance you cancel relative to the departure date.

Refundable Fare Cancellations

Fully refundable tickets allow cancellation before departure and return of the base fare to the original payment method, minus any applicable airline cancellation penalty. Refund timelines vary by airline and payment method — typically 7–21 business days for credit cards.

Non-Refundable Fare Options

Non-refundable tickets cannot be refunded but may retain value as a future travel credit on the same airline. We assess whether your fare qualifies for a credit hold, advise on any credit expiry timeframes, and document the credit details for future use when rebooking.

24-Hour Free Cancellation

Under US Department of Transportation rules, flights booked at least 7 days before departure may be cancelled within 24 hours of booking for a full refund — regardless of the fare type. If you're within this window, call us immediately and we'll process your free cancellation before it expires.

Airline-Cancelled Flights

If the airline cancels your flight or makes a significant schedule change, you are typically entitled to a full refund or free rebooking regardless of your fare type. We track what the airline has offered and ensure you receive the best available outcome — refund, rebooking, or credit — under applicable rules.

Travel Credit Management

Tax & Fee Recovery
